----
EVO2 Needed to take an Engine to the EVOC class tomorrow morning.
----
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST:  Scheduled for 0700 on Saturday 10/21. If you are required to take this test AChf Harris should've been in contact with you. If you think you need to take this test, contact AChf Harris.  You need to take the PAT if; you've joined the department within the last six months, or if you're a junior who will turn 18 in the next six months, then you need to take this PAT.
----
OPEN HOUSE & FIRE PREVENTION WEEK:  Captain Lang once again did a terrific job getting our fire safety message into the elementary schools and organizing a very well attended fire station open house. Last Wednesday we had approximately 220 people visit the station.  Lt Roma's grease fire demo was a big hit.  Many people I talked to not only commented on the open house, but had very complimentary things to say about the service that they received when they've called us.
That's a great reflection on each of you! Thanks!
----
EVO1 TEST:  If you think you're ready to test out for EVO1, discuss it with your Company Officer and LT Daniels.  We're tentatively planning a test on October 21st.
----
PATIENT RESTRAINTS:  MEMS will begin spot checks on arriving ambulances at different hospitals throughout the state over the next few months to ensure compliance with the seat belt and patient restraint requirements of the Pre-Hospital Treatment Protocols and the MEMS Rules.
MEMS will begin spot checks on arriving ambulances at different hospitals throughout the state over the next few months to ensure compliance with the seat belt and patient restraint requirements of the Pre-Hospital Treatment Protocols and the MEMS Rules.  Protocol Brown 24.
----
ALPHA LEVEL EMS CALLS: There's a rumor running around that Alpha level calls are handled routine (or Code 1).  This is not true.  Any guidance on response modes will be put out by Directive or Standard Operating Guideline.  In most cases, we will respond urgently (Code 3).  Omega level, public assistance, could be a routine (Code 1) response, use your good judgement.
----
RADIO CALL-UPS:  When calling into fire alarm, please do your call up, (Fire Alarm from Engine 81) wait for fire alarm to answer you, (Go ahead Engine 81), then send your message.  It gets busy in there. Remember, you have one radio frequency to listen to, Dispatchers have 7 frequencies to listen to.
----
ENGINEER's TIME:  EVO training, ground ladders, chimney fires, etc. Thursday, 10/19 at 1830.
----
COLD WEATHER:  Winter is coming, we can't avoid it. Please, dress for the weather. Carry an extra pair of gloves, winter hat, extra socks with your gear. Get an ice scraper for your car.  When leaving the station, close the overhead door.
----
LIVE FIRE TRAINING: Live fire training is scheduled for Sunday, 10/29/17 @ Hollis Training facility, leaving the station at 0730. There is a sign up on the bulletin board. This is primarily interior firefighter training, however, this is a great opportunity to operate a pump, set up rehab and get a good look at what's supposed to happen at a fire.
