Bob Bohlman:  Yesterday, Bob passed away.  Many of you may know Bob from his time as York County's Director of Emergency Management. Bob was also a former Assistant Fire Chief in Wells. He recently retired from FEMA as an Incident Management Team Operations Officer. Bob worked some pretty big operations. Haiti Earthquake, Super Storm Sandy, Katrina and others.

FIRE INSTRUCTOR COURSE: MFSI will be hosting a Fire Instructor I & II course in South Berwick.  The class will run on Monday nights January through April.  Applications are due by 12/21 with orientation on 1/9.   FMI  Click Here

EMS PEARS Class: We will be hosting Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) Class on December 11 from  0800-1600.  PEARS prepares a student to assess, categorize, decide and act early to stabilize a child. This is a CEH rich course designed for all EMS providers. Please follow this link to register.

CDLs:  We will be phasing in a requirement for all our drivers, EVO3 and 2, to obtain CDLs.  My plan is to phase this in over the next 2-3 years.  Study guides are available on the BMV website.

Day before Thanksgiving Dinner: Next Wednesday at noon we will commence the annual thanksgiving dinner for all the members and families that wish to attend. There is a sign up sheet on the fridge to capture how many people are coming and what you plan to bring. Hope to see you there.

BASIC FIRE SCHOOL:  Things are on track for running a basic course this winter. LT Sarto is setting things up.

LEADERSHIP IN SUPERVISION PILOT COURSE Opportunity – The NFA is seeking students to attend a pilot offering of the new 6-day course Leadership In Supervision (P0860). The pilot will be held on campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland from February 19-24, 2017. MILL POND:  I've been asked by the Advent Church that we not park trucks on the edge of the pavement my the pond.  Erosion has caused the pavement to crack and they're afraid that the weight of an engine will cause more damage.

FULL-TIME VACANCY:  As you know we do have one vacant full-time position.  I have been given the go-ahead from the commission to begin the interview process from names on our current hiring list.

NEXT BLOOD DRIVE:  December 10th is our next scheduled blood drive. Patty Dill has offered to coordinate that event with the Red Cross.  December 10th is also the annual Christmas Tree lighting and Santa Clause visit.

GREEN SHEETS; Aka: Exceptional Performance Reports.
- We  received a thank you card (and woopie pies) from the family at 12 Roy St.  They were very appreciative of the help they received with a recent call for an electrical problem at there house. LT Roma, FF Cole, Fowlie, Willette handled the call.

UNIFORM EXCHANGE:  If you have any servicable uniform items that you no longer needs. Those dress jackets have a way of shrinking in the closet.  We've set up a clothes rack in the old locker room (Room 120) for these items. If you something you can't use and someone else could, please hang in the uniform exchange rack. IF there is something on the rack you can use, help yourself.
