Weekly Update for Thursday, December 22, 2016 Merry Christmas!

I'm getting this out early because I'm taking tomorrow off. I've got some vacation time to use or loose.

OPEN SHIFTS: December 31 1900-0700; January; 1/1 0700-1900; 1/3 0700-1900; 1/7 1900-0700.
1/11 0700-1900.    We do have a couple permanent per diem shifts open, if your interested and hold the required qualifications, contact the Deputy.

Call Stats:  As of noon time today; we've handled 730 calls for service. We've treated 526 patients.
----
Annual Core Training:  Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 7th, starting at 0800.  This mandatory training required of all first responders. ----
Engine 83:  It'll be out of service for at least 2 weeks. There is an issue with the rear brakes that requires parts. East Coast is closed for Christmas all next week. E84 is first due for a while.
----
Ladder 82: It's back and in service. We need to op test the pump. The hose nets need to be installed before we load hose.  It's in service as an aerial.
----
Ambulance 86:  It's on scheduled for completion on January 19th. I'm guessing that we'll have it late February.
----
Basic Fire School:  Organizational meeting tonight.  We are planning to get the course going during the week of January......   We'll have about 8 students from Goodwins Mills and Saco.
----
Dayton School: The Dayton School Staff is looking for volunteers to help assemble some new, donated, shelving in the library.  What better way to share the Holiday spirit than lending a helping hand.  This is scheduled to take place Tuesday, 12/27 from 8:30-2.  If you have some free time and would like to help out, please contact Kim Sampietro at  ksampietro@daytonschooldept.org

Recent Code:  I received a nice "thank you" from Waterboro FD regarding the code we assisted them with earlier this week.

Community Garden:  I received a note form the Board of Directors of the Community Lirbary thanking us for watering the garden last summer.
----
New Thermal Imaging Camera:  We have received a grant, just in time for Christmas, from the Firefighter Support Foundation to purchase a new TIC.  I was told yesterday that "the check is in the mail"!  I've called "Santa Willie Burke", and we'll be ordering a Flir K65 thermal camera.
----
