Recent Code: On Monday evening we had a cardiac arrest Echo level call. The outcome wasn't what we desire, despite our best efforts. The code was run smoothly and professionally. We had a great turnout of responders for the call. Thank you.

RESPIRATOR QUESTIONNAIRE: It's that time of year again. Respiratory questionnaires are in mailboxes. Please complete them ASAP and leave them in the wooden box marked GMR in the Ops room, or place them in DChf Harris's mail slot.

Ice/Water Rescue: The Blue Ice/Water Rescue bags are now on Forestry 87. The red water rescue bags are in the mezzanine for the winter.

Firefighter Fatality Notice: Carroll Township Fire and EMS, Oak Harbor, Ohio.
While responding to an emergency medical call, Firefighter Daniel Lucius was involved in an accident when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pond. Emergency responders quickly responded to the accident scene and were able to pull Lucius from the submerged vehicle. Lucius was transported to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio, where he was pronounced deceased from the injuries sustained.

Cold Weather: You've probably noticed, it is cold. Let's be sure to cycle water when pumpers are outside of any amount of time. Keep an extra hat, gloves and socks with your turn out gear. Make sure to clear off ALL snow and frost from you car windows.

Ladder 82: We had a little set back. While Greenwood was prepping the truck for its trip home, oil was discovered blowing out the dipstick. The truck will be going to Cummings to have that looked at.

Fire-Police Training: Directive 2219 has been posted. This directive provides requirements for fire-police qualifications at a basic, intermediate and advanced levels. The training is on-line using the Responder Safety Learning Network.

Engineer (EVO4) Qualifications: Directive 2215 has been posted. This directive provides requirements for qualifications.

Duty Officer Handbook Version 3.1: Each officer has a copy. Additional copies are on each engine and on the whiteboard. The handbook contains some "official use only" information so please safeguard them.

Emergency Services Risk Reduction Program (ESRRP) Certificate: The Fire Hero Learning Network now offers an Emergency Services Risk Reduction Program Certificate for registered users who complete four specific FHLN online self-paced programs. Three self-paced programs are required. The fourth program is the user’s choice between two programs. To earn credit for each program, you must view the program in its entirety and pass the Skills Challenge test. Once you earn credit for all four programs, you will be able to download a special Emergency Services Risk Reduction Program Certificate representing four hours of tested training. When you have completed all the programs, you can download the certificate from your Completed Programs page.
I strongly encourage everyone to complete this training.
