You may have heard that I will be leaving. Well, I am. I have accepted the position as the County Fire Administrator. The County Commissioners will vote to approve my appointment on Oct 2nd. I still have to work out my last day here with the Fire Commissioners. My decision to leave wasn't an easy one. Lot of sleepless nights thinking about it. When I first took this job, my intentions were to stay here for 10-years. I'm at 7 years 9 months. This opportunity won't be available two years from now, so I decided to take advantage of it. Change in leadership can be a positive move in any organization. We have a strong and resilient department. I am confident that the GMFR will continue to grow and improve. I want to thank each of you for the support that you've given me. I could not have done any of this alone. Thank you for doing your part to make our community a better place to live.
Have a great weekend,
Chief
