Weekly Update for Friday, June 19, 2015

Yesterday was Nate Keller's last day in Goodwins Mills. This morning he started in Bath. Best of Luck Nate!  At last night's Fire Commission meeting the commission voted to offer the vacant full-time position to Phil Daniels. I spoke with Phil last night and he has accepted. Phil will be starting sometime after the 4th of July holiday. With Phil taking a full-time slot, that leaves a per diem vacancy. If anyone is interested in a per diem slot, please contact the Deputy.

Cardiac Monitor; The Fire Commission has approved the RFP for replacement of our cardiac monitors. I hope to get this project wrapped up by the first of August. We have a Lifepak 15 demo here at the station for the next week. It's in the small conference room. Come take a look at it. I am going to get us a Zoll X to demo for a few days also.

Engine 83: Minuteman will be showing our new rescue-pumper at the New England Fire Chiefs Conference in Springfield, Mass on June 26 and 27. This is one of the largest fire apparatus shows in the country. The truck will be delivered to us early Monday, June 29th. Just in time for our dedication ceremony on June 30th. Speaking of the dedication ceremony, on Monday, June 22, at 1830, I'd like to have a meeting to organize the dedication ceremony. We still have yet to schedule the training on the new engine. Once I have dates, I'll send them out.  Also, who's looked over the Pierce training videos on our website?

EMS Protocol Update:  Must be done by July 1st.  MEMSED  Git r done!

Lions Club; The Lyman-Dayton Lions Club will be meeting at the fire station on Monday nights.

Basic Fire School: The BLS class will start August 24th and run through October 30. Lt Sarto has stepped up to teach our two modules. He's going to need some help.

Firefighter Nation: This is a great site for Firefighter Info, Training, Innovations, etc. Check it out  Firefighter Nation
