Congratulations to FF Rocky Sanfilippo, Rocky has been hired by Portland FD.

Student Update:  In another week this semester will end. FF Cole Tarbell will be leaving the program. Lucky for us he's going to remain on the call force. Replacing Cole in the student program will be FF Joe Demers. FF Nicki Fowlie will be coming back next semester. Over the summer she will be spending two days a week in our station while attending summer classes at SMCC.  We will be selecting a 3rd student from the free agent pool once the draft process is completed.
----
Recent Codes:  This past week we responded on 2 cardiac codes. Both calls were handled promptly and professionally. Our cardiac code team approach is working. These calls are being handled in a calm and organized manner. Of the two codes we had last week, one had the results we desire. "ROSC". The patient was talking to us before we arrived at SMHC Biddeford. This patient will survive and be home soon. Several factors were in our favor. A witnessed arrest, EMD started early CPR, ALS on scene in 5 minutes from the 911 call.  The second code, not so well. We had the right skills, equipment and resources on scene quickly. The code was managed according to SOG and protocol. Yet, we weren't able to achieve the desired result.  We win some, we loose some.   I'd like do conduct an AAR soon. I'm sure there are things we can learn from each event.  Again. great job to all who responded. Thanks!
