Weekly Update for Friday, July 1, 2016

OPEN SHIFTS: July and August are all set, at the moment. September; 3rd 0700-1900; October 29th 0700-1900.

Call Volume:  Last week we ran 16 calls from Sunday to Saturday. This past week we've run 18 calls from Sunday thru Thursday.  On average, we run 10 calls a week. In June, we ran 87 calls and treated over 40 patients. For the year; we've run 367 calls for service and treated nearly 200 people.
We're about 10 calls behind this point last year.  This weekend is setting up to be busy one. Holiday weekend with very dry conditions. The National Weather Service is calling for 1/10 to 1/4 inch of rain Friday night.

Ambulance Update:  We met on Wednesday with Al Hooper (no relation), of Specialty Vehicles, Inc. SVI is the Lifeline Ambulance dealer.  We went over specifications, options, etc. and came up with a list. Al will be preparing an order and diagrams for us to review next.

Repeater Project: Phase II of our repeater system will be completed this summer. This project installs a redundant repeater at the fire station. It will also concentrate a signal to the part of town that we currently are having trouble in.  That swath from Kennebunk Pond through Jackson's Corner.  I met with Dirigo Wireless on Wednesday. Dave Cobb is putting an equipment list and prices together for me.  My goal is to have this completed by the end of September.

3rd Quarter Training: The 3rd Quarter Training Book has been issued.  The theme of the quarter will be Structural Firefighting.  The Quarterly Drill will actually be on October 23rd Live Burns.  Please mark your calendars.  The CEH of the Month is not available yet, however should be by the end of the next week. Training of the Month - SCBA recertification. This is mandatory for all BLS FF's, FF I's and FF II's in order to maintain certification.
The Coordinators assigned are as follows:
Training of the Month: Tuesday July 12th @ 1830:  Lt Daniels. Friday July 15th @ 0900:  Lt Sarto
CEH of the Month: Tuesday July 19th @ 1830:  Capt Duross. Friday July 22nd @ 0900:  FF Ray.
Quarterly Drill: Sunday Oct 23rd @0700:  Asst. Chief Harris.

Basic EMT class: An basic EMT class is being held in West Kennebunk. It will run from August through December.  If interested submit a training request.

Basic Fire School:  This course will run August through September. Classes will rotate through various department in York County. If your interested submit a training request ASAP.
----
Live In Student Fire Academy:  This academy runs from August 8th through August 26th. Assistant Instructors are needed.  I'll also be needing apparatus operators at some point in the program.
