----
Volunteer Recruiting & Retention Survey: The Millersville University Center for Disaster Research and Education, along with the Lancaster County Firemen's Association and the Fire Association for the State of Pennsylvania, is collecting recruiting and retention data for the volunteer fire service. Please go to this link to complete the survey.

Firefighter survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VolunteerFF_K7ZKDLJ
Chief Officer's survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VolunteerFireChiefs_Z55MDR3

While we all know that volunteerism is down, and many of us have tried lots of methods to recruit and retain our dedicated volunteers, the hope of this study is to determine what methods actually work, and then spread the message on our findings.  This survey can be distributed to anyone you know in the fire service, and will be distributed throughout the country, as this is obviously not just a Pennsylvania issue. The surveys take approximately ten-fifteen (10-15) minutes to complete.

The survey will be open until August 31, 2016 at midnight. Three randomly selected respondents will receive $250 gift certificates to The FireStore. (www.thefirestore.com) The Fire Department with the largest percentage of members responding, will receive a $500 gift certificate to The Firestore.
----
Computers: Please, when you're done with a computer log off! I've seen some computers will 4 people still logged on. This slows the performance of the machine.
----
Cervical Collars: We had some collars that it was noted were very difficult to apply. These collars were old inventory and were put on the trucks to use them up. They are all out of inventory now, our standard collar is all we're carrying and it is what we will continue to order in the future.
----
Biddeford Detail: I want to thank Lt Martin, FFs Cole, Boucher and Demers for covering Biddeford Central with Ladder 82 the during the funeral for FF Roger Cote. I received a thank you card from Chief Gagne. He seemed particularly impressed that our crew participated in the bell ceremony.
----
Flag Disposal Ceremony Detail:  On July 17th (tentative) we've been asked to support the Boys Scout with fire suppression during a flag disposal ceremony. Squad 87 will be assigned. Once I have more info I'll be asking for a crew.
----
Events next week:  Tuesday; 1830 Training/SCBA. Thursday; Joint Selectmen's meeting 1830. Junior Company 1830. Friday 0900 Training/SCBA.
----

Have a safe weekend,
Chief
