OPEN SHIFTS: December: Tue 12/5, Thu 12/21. both 0700-1900.

CONGRATULATIONS:  Cole Tarbell was officially sworn in as a Saco Firefighter this afternoon.

GUN RAFFLE: Please have your Gun Raffle tickets and money into Lt. Daniels by this Saturday at 3PM.

LIVE FIRE DAY: This Sunday we'll be doing our live fire training in Hollis. Please be at the station at 0700.
----
CANDY FOR HALLOWEEN:  Still in need of candy for Halloween.
----
LADDER 82:  The ladder will be out of service for about a week, the water pump needs to be replaced.
----
PUMPERS:  The master pressure gauge on Engine 81 has been replaced, the water tank fill gauge on Engine 84 has been replaced and the pressure sensor on Engine 83's pump has been replaced. The problem we were experiencing between RPM and pressure modes should be fixed. Eastern is gong to be sending me a procedure to calibrate the tank fill gauge on Engine 83.

HYDRANTS: The Lover's Lane, Tara Estates and River Road hydrants are out of service due to low water levels.

DRUG TAKE BACK: The York County Sheriff's Office will be at the station from 1000-1400 this Saturday for Drug Take Back.

EVO2 Needed: Looking for and EVO2 to assist Hollis FD on Wednesday, November 1st at 0730.

EMS PROTOCOL UPDATE: Hollis Fire Rescue will be holding a 2018 Protocol Update Class November 21, 2017 at 630pm at Hollis station 2 (405 Plains road). Please direct any questions to Captain Berry, cberry@hollisfd.org or 749-0345. PICO and STICO Classes: These two NFA classes are promotion requirements in our Dept. We will be  hosting PICO in January. Hollis will be hosting STICO in February. More info to follow.

2018 Templated Per Diem Shifts: Anyone who would like to be assigned templated per diem shift for the calendar year 2018, is requested to send an email to Deputy Chief Johnston cjohnston@gmfd.org no later than November 15th.  Please indicate shifts you are available for. The 2018 schedule will be issued on Saturday, December 16, 2017.  Shifts may requested by A/B/C/D or specific days of the week. This includes anyone who currently has templated shifts, no reply will be assumed that you no longer wish to have templated shifts. Templated shifts will only be assigned to those individuals who meet minimum requirements of  Regulation 1106 Section 2.2. (Fire Station Staffing).

FIREFIGHTER LIFE SAFETY INITIATIVES: #3 Risk Management: Focus greater attention on the integration of risk management with incident management at all levels, including strategic, tactical and planning responsibilities.

PARAMEDIC FLY-CAR:  You may start hearing rumors that SMHC is going to provide a Paramedic fly-car service.  Well, no they aren't, yet.  There is discussion going on about the concept of a hospital-based paramedic intercept service. November 1st will be the first formal meeting to discuss the idea. These discussions are in the very very early stages.

ImageTrend is doing another update to on Wednesday, November 1 between 9 am and 9 pm Eastern Daylight Time. A warning banner will appear on your site 15 minutes prior to your site updating, letting any users currently in the system know to save their work and close the browser. There may be up to 10 minutes of downtime during this update.
