DUTY OFFICER: Tonight: Capt Daniels. Tomorrow: LT Tarbell. Tomorrow night: Chief Hooper.
Sunday: Chief Hooper.  Duty Chief next week: Chief Hooper.
------
MERRY CHRISTMAS:  The quint and new coffee maker arrived this week! Ho Ho Ho!
------
CALL FORCE PAY ROLL for NOVEMBER:  There was a glitch in processing the November call force payroll. It will be processed next week for a January 3 payday. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
------
800 CALLS FOR SERVICE: Last night we broke the 800 mark for the number of calls for service. This has been our busiest year ever! We topped last year's number of 763. We've treated over 485 patient this year too.
------
DATA TRAC UPDATE:  Data Trac was updated today. Passwords have been reset to a generic. Please reset your password ASAP.
------
LADDER 82:  It's here. We still have a lot of work to do to get the truck in service. We have much training to do to learn how to operate it and how we're going to deploy it. Captain Johnston is working on fiting the truck with its equipage and material needs. Captain Daniels is working on the training requirements.  I'm sure they will be reaching out for assistance.   This truck will carry the same equipment as the previous Ladder 82 carried. Nothing more, nothing less.  Over the next few months, we will make adjustments to its equipage and SOGs as we get better accustomed to operating with a true quint.
------
A86 RED BAG:  We're trying a new jump bag on A86.  Please look it over. The hope is that this one fits the compartment better and better holds our equipment.  Let me know your thoughts.
------
ON-LINE TRAINING from the NATIONAL FIRE ACADEMY: Many volunteer and career fire service personnel cannot take time off to attend the resident programs at the National Fire Academy (NFA) campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland. NFA provides regional and online courses to fill this gap (PDF, 201 KB). Operated by the U.S. Fire Administration, NFA Online offers free self-paced and
instructor-mediated courses for fire and emergency services personnel. Students successfully completing NFA Online courses receive an NFA certificate and the course will be added to your NFA transcript. International students are welcome. State and local training partners also offer on-site NFA courses for local delivery. These 2-, 6-, and 10-day courses are listed in the NFA course catalog. Students will receive an NFA certificate of completion. Contact your state fire training agency for
more information on offerings, application procedures, course dates and locations.
For more information in NFA courses, residential or off-site, see the NFA website.
