First Net does have family plans. You can do this at any AT&T store. You all have been entered in the GMFR First Net database and should have received an e-mail by now to set up your profile. More information about First Net is available at www.firstnet.gov.
-----
Lifepacks & Ipads: The Lifepacks have been synced to the new Ipads. They should be seamless.
You may have to ensure that the personal hotspot is on in the Ipad.
-----
Turnout Gear:  I've noticed all too often lately, that turnout gear being left on the floor has become commonplace. It's a trip hazard. Turnout gear needs to be kept in the ambulance compartment, when you're on duty, or on your gear hook. Remember, turnout gear exists to protect you. Take care if it and it will take care of you!
-----
Forestry 87:  Rescue sled has been mounted. All open water suits (red bags) have been replaced with ice water suits (blue bags).

Firefighter Near Miss: Unable to Establish Safety Zone on Interstate MVC
This week’s ROTW stresses the importance of establishing an effective safety zone on the scene of a motor vehicle collision (MVC).
Event Description: My crew responded to a report of a vehicle collision on the interstate. Our ambulance crew was first on scene and reported that the location of the crash was on an embankment adjacent to the interstate. A quick scene survey revealed that there was damage to the rear of the vehicle and no visible occupants. The ambulance crew established command and proceeded to search for occupants or patients. The balance of the response, an engine and a chief, showed up. Both the engine and the chief were positioning their vehicles to provide a protective blocking position on the interstate. Immediately in front of the engine and the chief was a tractor-trailer hauling gravel. The driver locked up his brakes in an attempt to avoid causing a secondary collision in the slowing traffic. When he was unable to stop the truck, the driver steered toward the shoulder and was in line with colliding with the ambulance and crew. Fortunately, truck struck a large tree, halting its forward progress.  View the Report: Unable to Establish Safety Zone on Interstate MVC
