My apologies for missing the last two weeks. As you all know, I was deeply involved in organizing the memorial service for Captain Joel Barnes. It was an honor to be involved in that venture. Bringing all that together was an incredible task. Something I hope not to do again, for obvious reasons. The groups that came together was truly amazing. It was definitely a team effort. I think we gave Joel a fitting send off.

Customer Thank you: I received an email this morning regarding a recent call to Keywood Manor.
The call was an unattended death. The family was grateful and surprised by the compassion and caring shown. Her neighbors were impressed to see us shovel the walkway and steps for her.
Good job! Thank you.

New Members: We have several new members. All have come to us with experience from other departments. If you see a new face, introduce yourself. We are currently at full staff. With the exception of fire-police. I'd like to have about 4 more. All of our fire/EMS call force positions are filled. The majority of our numbers are active. We are in very good shape, in regards to staffing. I credit a lot of this success to Captain Daniel's efforts in training. I've always said the Training Officer is the Morale Officer. I strongly believe that good people are drawn to professional organizations. I also believe good people attract good people. Which puts a lot of credit for our success on each of you. Thank you for what you are doing to make our community a better place to live.

Ladder 82 and EVO3's: Ladder 82 is ready to go inservice. We just need operators. Current EVO3's please get your quals done before Friday, 3/22. I plan to put the truck in service on that day.
New EVO3: Current EVO2's may start working on the EVO3 qual. We will be organizing a formal aerials class soon.

Congratulations to our newest EVOs: EVO1; FF Joe Ferrante & FF Tom Gallant. EVO2: FF Corey Boucher and FF Joe Ferrante. And ot our newest CDL holder; AChf Duross.
------
Upcoming Training: Tomorrow we'll be doing roll-ups and mayday drills at the burn house. April 7th is our day to do live fire burns.
------
Truck Checks: We're changing up the truck checks a little. We are going to add the DOT Pre-Trip Check as part of our checks, for several reasons. One reason is that it just makes senses. Another is that it's the right thing to do. And another reason is that it will give each of us practice for the CDL exam.

Erin go bragh! No, I'm not Irish. I do wish my Irish friends a Happy St. Patrick's Day on Sunday. Erin go bragh is an English version of an Irish phrase. Of course, the English messed it up. (Yes, I am of English ancestry.) Does anyone know what the Irish phrase really is and what it actually means?
Have a great weekend!
