LIVE-IN STUDENTS: FF Loudon and FF Bicking are off to the Firefighter I&II academy next week. Both are cleared to run calls (and they've been on many), however, neither is interior qualified, yet.

BASIC PUMP OPERATORS COURSE: Goodwins Mills will be hosting a BPOC class on these dates in August 8/12, 8/15, 8/19, 8/26. All classes start at 1800 and will be held at the Goodwins Mills Fire Station. Register by emailing Capt. Daniels. pdaniels@gmfd.org

STATION UNIFORM: Directive 2120 has been revised to change our Class C or station uniform. Section 3.2(B) applies. This uniform will now consist of navy blue shirt and pants, without badges, name pins or collar devises. In their place will be embroidered (or a sewn-on tape) over the left pocket "Fire-Rescue" over the right pocket the wearer's rank and last name. Both are in red block letters (gold for chief offices). EMS license level will be worn on the left pocket flap.(IE: EMT-B, EMT-A, PARAMEDIC.) Manor of wear for rank devices, (IE: horns) has yet to be determined. There is no change to how the department patch and US Flag will be worn. A transitional period to phase in this change will run from now until 7/31/2020.

NEW HIRES: Our two newest full-time employees, Nicole Demarco and Adam Mason, have start dates. FF Demarco will start on 8/13 for training and go on to Shift B on 9/5. FF Mason will start on 8/19 for training and on 9/2 go to Shift A.

CALL VOLUMES: In July, we ran 90 calls for service. 50 EMS, 27 Fires, 8 MVA's and 5 miscellaneous. Calendar year to date; 468 calls for service and we've treated 300 patients.
