Weekly Update for Friday, August 19, 2016

OPEN SHIFTS:  None right now.

DAYTON DAYS:  Saturday, August 27th 1330 to 1700. Need drivers for Touch-a-Truck.
----
NEW MEMBERS:  We have two new members that were hired this week. Matt Straffin, who is a Firefighter I coming to us from Berwick. He lives across the street from the station. Robin Howard, is an ER Nurse Practitioner who works at SMHC Sanford. They both will be starting a their orientation soon.
----
YORK COUNTY FIRE & EMS SCHOOL:  We've received several training requests. If you're interested in attending, talk with your company officer and get your training requests in ASAP. The school is September 24 and 25.
----
FIREFIGHTER I/II ACADEMY: The flyer for the YCCA FF I/II Academy should be on the streets by September 24th.  As usual, the Academy will run from January to June 2017.  If you're interested in attending, talk with your company officer. 
----
THE DROUGHT:  It's still very serious. Until we get a significant amount of rain, outdoor burning will only be authorized after 1700  hours. When issuing burning permits, remember, there is a specific templete to use for Night Only burning.   The weather service is call for heavy rain Sunday and Monday. 
----
LADDER 82; East Coast has asked us to delay send out Ladder 83 for maintenance. They need to clear out their backlog. We're tentatively scheduled for September 19th. 
----
AMBULANCE 86:  Our new ambulance is next in line at engineering. The engineers are preparing the diagrams and specs. I should have them end of next week.
----
RESCUE 85: We're experiencing an intermittent air conditioning problem with R85. It's scheduled for service on  Monday. It is still in service. However, R86 will be running as front line.
----
TURF FARM HYDRANT: It's been repaired and is back in service.  When Capt Lang and his crew returned from repairing it, it looked like they had been mud wrestling. 
----
NEW GEAR RACK:  I want to thank Jake Cole and Cole Tarbell for the upgrades to the gear racks and for building the additional new rack.  Great job by the Juniors in getting the racks painted! THANKS!
----
MASK MOUNTED TIC:  We have a loaner Scott mask the has a mounted thermal imaging camera. Take a look at it.  Let me know what you think. The mask in in Ops.

RAFFLE: The Relief Association is raffling off a Ruger 308 rifle w/ scope. See LT Daniels for tickets and details. Drawing is October 28th. 
----
BICYCLE RACE: OOB Parks & Rec is hosting a bicycle race on Sunday, 8/28. We've been asked to provide traffic control on both ends of John St for that event. 
----
