----
Alfred's Fire:  Great job to the crew that responded the structure fire call in Alfred on Thursday morning.  We were on of first mutual aid companies to arrive, and the last to leave. Jake Boyden is becoming a salty dog!
----
Congratulations to Lieutenants Daniels, Johnston and Martin for completing the NFA's Decision Making for Initial Company Operations Course at MFSI Brunswick last weekend.
----
Ambulance 86: Lt Daniels has developed a training process for getting everyone up to speed on operating the new ambulance.  That process is on the Ambulance 86 clipboard. We can start training immediately.  Lt Roma is working on installing dividers in the interior compartments. Once this is done well load the appropriate equipment.  Dirigo Wireless will be here on Tuesday to wire the radios.  The intention is to have the truck in service by April 1st.  A copy of the training criteria is available at this link  A86 Training Guidelines
----
Banquet & A86 Ceremony: April 15th is the banquet. Sign ups are on the bulletin board. Please get your $10 to either Lt Martin or me.  Also on April 15th we will holding a commissioning ceremony for A86 at 1300 at the station.
----
Ladder 82: It's at East Coast. The pins that hold the bucket on the first fly are bent. UL has been called to do a cert test on the ladder. We won't know the next step until the testing is done.
----
Image Trend Elite:  We will probably be moving to Image Trend Elite for patient care reporting in May.  This is a web based program with an "app" loaded on the I-pad or laptop for off-line use. The plan is to move away from the laptops and start using I-pads with bluetooth keyboards. The Deputy is working on this, along with having the Lifepak bluetooth to the I-pad.
----
2018 Budget:  Last night I made my budget presentation to both Boards of Selectmen, both Budget Committees and the Fire Commission. AChf Harris gave a presentation on our EMS capabilities and status. DChf Johnston gave a presentation on our personnel tenure, recruiting & retention over the past 35 years.  In my budget presentation; my operations budget request has a .04% increase. In personnel I asked for an additional $21,000 to convert the Kelly Day into a full-time position and an additional $67,000 to add 84 hours of per diem time. This would put a second FF/EMT on over-night. The Fire Commission opted to remove the $21K for the full-time position, but did support the $67K for the added per diem hours. This is laid out in my Staffing Plan Update for 2017.  In my capital budget presentation; I discussed in detail an updated version of my Apparatus Replacement Plan. I also gave an explanation of the current situation with Ladder 82 and our need for a Quint as well as a pumper-tanker. As you all know, these are very expensive proposals. The next step in the process is, that each Board and Committee will meet separately to discuss. They will meet again on April 5th to vote on proposals. Then it all goes to Town Meeting where we all can vote.  All the documents I provided for the budget are posted on our website under Chief's Reports.

Life Flight:  The latest on Life Flight out of Sanford Airport is...it'll be in service on March 20th. Hours of operations will be 0900-2100.
----
Critical Equipment Outage:  The fax machine/copier is broken. The tech should be back on Monday with the necessary parts to fix it. In the meantime, have fire alarm e-mail times to you. The machine does still work as a scanner.
----
Events Next Week:  Tuesday Training SCBA 1830.
----

I'll be out of town Monday through Wednesday of next week. This will be my last Navy Reserve drill period before I retire next month.
