Busy Week: Great job this week. Sunday's training burns went off without a hitch. Got some great live fire training in, pump operations, etc. The family was very happy to get the building down. And mother nature cooperated too. Our code on Monday night was well run and a very successful. We had a pulseless patient on arrival, we transported that patient to SMHC with a strong pulse. The PT was sent to MMC. However, due to other complications, not cardiac related, the patient passed away.
On another call; we discovered it's not a good idea to leave your baby chickens in a card board box with a heat lamp. That has a way of starting a fire. Also, for smoke detectors to work, they require batteries. Luckily, this homeowner came home in time to discover the fire early. The news of the week; 314 acres burned in Kennebunk. This is probably the largest forest fire in York County since 1947. Char on trees 17 feet high. Definitely, a historical moment.
