Recent Events: I want to thank everyone who again stepped up to support the Littlefield family, following Lee's passing. I received a card from Mrs Littlefield (Joan), Lee's mother. She was very appreciative of your presence at the funeral and opening the station for family and friends.
------
Recent Fires: The 84 Clarks Woods Road fire last Saturday; that call couldn't have gone any better. From the actions taken early on, to the quick set up of water supply and it's sustainability, everything seemed to "click".  Great job everyone! Thank you!  Automatic mutual aid, building construction and competent Firefighters did the job. I've also received much praise and appreciation from the property owners, their friends and family.  A friend of their's, who lives in Dayton, stopped by the station to thank us.
Earlier this week we went to Waterboro on their 2nd alarm fire at Diversified Auto. Once again, crew steps off E83 geared up, tools in hand, ready to go to work.
Wednesday, we had a mess on Route 111 at Kennebunk Pond Road. Go figure, right? The new blinky stop signs aren't going to be much help. Fire Police was prompt and handled traffic quite efficiently. We did get the second ambulance on the road.
------
Student Move in:  Our newest student, Lisa Eichel, will be moving into the station this Sunday. Next week will be her orientation week. Then she's off to the fire academy on the 5th.
-----
Congratulations: FF Guillemette and FF Richardson have qualified as EVO2.
-----
New Members:  We have two new call force members. Heather Valliere and Christine Hilton.
Heather is a paramedic/FF2 with Kennebunk. Christine is a basic EMT and is in paramedic school. She's completed a BLS FF program with the Damariscotta FD.
-----
Resignation: Regrettably, Jake Mitchell has resigned.
-----
Live In Program Fire Academy: Looking for a crew to take A85 to the academy on Thursday, August 22 during the live fire burns.
-----
Fall Fire & EMS School:  The flyer should be out very soon. The weekend is September 29 and 30. The new Advanced Pump Operators Course (APOC) will be offered. This is the first time in several years that and advanced pumps class is being offered.  New England FOOLS will be providing a hands-on class. As well as the regular EVOC, BPOC and EMS CEU classes will be offered.
-----
Basic Fire Officer Course: The York County Chiefs Association will be sponsoring a BFO course in Alfred. The course will run on Wednesday evenings September through November.  BFO is a promotion requirement in Goodwins Mills.
-----
ICS 300 and 400:  These courses are being offered in Alfred on August 6 & 7 (300) and on August 20 & 21 (400). These courses are promotion requirements for Captains and Chief Officers in Goodwins Mills.
----
Residential Sprinklers in Lyman: On August 1st the Lyman Planning Board will hold a public hearing on a proposed change to the subdivision regulation that would require residential sprinklers in all homes in any new subdivisions. Please plan to attend this hearing. Support from the communities Firefighters is crucial to passing this change.
-----
Next Chief's Call: I'm planning on holding the next Chief's Call on Tuesday, August 28th.
-----
The EMR-ISAC InfoGram for July 26, 2018 contains the following articles:

As July comes to an end (and I hate saying that), I want to thank everyone who's stepped up to cover calls, get training done, work details, fill shifts, get our new folks up to speed and everything else.
Each of you really do make our community a better place to live. Thanks.

Have a great weekend,
Chief
