Congratulations: Lt Dylan Martin has passed the Fire Officer 1 and 2 Pro Board written exams. FF Issiac Hooper now has an EMT-B license. Lt James Johnston has been promoted to Captain (Acting).

Officer Vacancies: We currently have one captain vacancy (Tactics Officer). Applications for captain closed on 8/24. A selection process is underway. Once this vacancy is filled, we will post for applications to fill Lieutenant vacancies.

Physical Agility Test: The PAT is scheduled for 1830 hours on Monday, September 17th. Satisfactory completion of this test is a requirement for continued employment. It must be completed before the end of your probationary period. The Deputy will contact those who need to participate in this event. Capt Lang and Lt Roma have set up practice stations. These will remain set up for the next couple weeks. Please feel free to come practice.

New AEDs: New AEDs for apparatus have been ordered. The Cardiac Science G5's is what we've ordered. These AEDs will replace the G3's that are carried on apparatus.

Nozzle Changes: Below listed are changes to our nozzles on our pre-connected hose lines:
E83: Blue and Green 1 ¾” lines (deployed off the rear of the truck) are now equipped with 15/16” tip smooth bore nozzles.
Red and Yellow 1 ¾” lines (deployed off the side of the truck) these cross lays both have automatic nozzles.
Rear 2 ½” line is now equipped with a 1-1/8” smooth bore nozzle.
The 2 ½” off the cross lay remains with an automatic nozzle.
E84: Blue and Green 1 ¾” lines (deployed off the side of the truck, top cross lays) are now equipped with 15/16” tip smooth bore nozzles.
Red and Yellow 1 ¾” lines (deployed off the side of the truck, lower forward most speed lays) have automatic nozzles.
Rear 2 ½” line is now equipped with a 1 1/8” smooth bore nozzle.
E81: No Change.

Mitigating fireground injury risks: Suggested interventions. Firefighting poses many hazards that come in a wide variety of work settings. One recent study focused on the scope and nature of fireground injuries to determine what steps fire departments can take to better mitigate hazards posed by certain risks.
