One of our own: On Wednesday there was a crash in Arundel on Route 111 by New Road. This crash is closer to home for us. Engr Howard Smith's girlfriend, Evelyn Nichols and her brother were involved. Firefighter Near Miss: Firefighter Loses Consciousness During Training Exercise:
Our job requires us to respond to many chaotic situations and sometimes risk life and limb to protect others, but too often, firefighters are exposed to preventable hazards as we train to improve our skills. In this week’s report, a firefighter serving in place of a training aid loses consciousness, and only quick action prevents a real tragedy.
