-----
Resignation:  Regrettably, after 25-years of service to Lyman and Dayton, Captain Robert Lang is resigning effective on December 31st, 2018. Rob joined the department in 1993 and has been well immersed in department activities ever since. Being one of the last elected EMS officers in 1997,  he was instrumental in the merger of the GM Rescue with the GMFD. He has been the driving force behind our fire prevention education in the Lyman and Dayton schools. Over the years he has received several Chief's Commendations and Department Awards. Please join me in expressing our sincere thanks to Rob for his service and all the best in his future in the City of Biddeford.
-----
Ladder 82:  The 1987 E-One has been delivered to Greenwood. I will be meeting with Chief Sprague of Pleasant Point FD in Brunswick tomorrow to finalize the paperwork.  Our 2003 E-One is finishing up in Attleboro and should be in Brunswick next week. We anticipate delivery before Thanksgiving.
-----
Apparatus spots:  While the ladder bay is empty, both ambulances are in the same bay, Forestry 87 and Service 88 are in bay 1.
-----
Winter: I hate to say it, but....it's coming.  Black ice will become common again soon. Please clean off snow and frost from you car windows, especially when responding to calls. Dress for the weather too. I'd also suggest keeping an extra hat, gloves and socks with your turnout gear.
-----
Quarterly Report:  My report for the 3rd quarter of 2018 is posted on the website.  A copy is also on the bulletin board on Ops.  As of this morning; we've answered 697 calls for service. We've treated 421 patients.
-----
Turnout Gear washing: We have purchased NFPA 1851 compliant laundry detergent specifically for washing turnout gear, gloves and hoods. This detergent is not to be used for anything else.
-----
The EMR-ISAC InfoGram for November 1, 2018 contains the following articles:
1. Active shooter response resources and training websites
